Michael A. Torres is Chief Executive Officer and portfolio manager. Mr. Torres joined the firm in February 1995. He has over 37 years of real estate and securities research experience. Prior to joining Adelante, Mr. Torres was the Director of Real Estate Research and a portfolio manager for Wilshire Asset Management. At Wilshire, he created the Wilshire Real Estate Securities Index, widely recognized as the industry’s performance benchmark.

Mr. Torres serves on the Board of Directors of CBL Properties, Renova Therapeutics, and Colovore LLC. He is on the Cristo Rey De La Salle HS President’s Advisory Council, the BEE Partners LP Advisory Board, and Investment Committee for the Stern Grove Festival Foundation. He has also served has a UC Berkeley Foundation Trustee. Mr. Torres is currently an active member of the NorCal YPOG Chapter. Mr. Torres received a B.A. in Architecture and an M.B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
